Fundraising & Sponsors?

We love to do fundraisers in our community!

One Dog at a Time believes in saving all animals, so we are a vegan run rescue. We love partnering with breweries & restaurants that will make a special vegan meal or beer to feature during our events. We have loved being part of fundraisers with Fossil, Metric, Lost Friend, The Easy Vegan, Birchwood Bakehouse, Stir, Burrowing Owl, Fern’s Diner, Goat Patch, & Cerberus. Our friends at Rescued Hearts Unique Boutique are very generous with their donations to us. Please support these awesome folks that support us!

We are funded entirely by donations from private donors & fundraising. We have a handful of monthly supporters (friends & family) that we can depend on. You can become a monthly sustaining member right here, just hit the DONATE button & choose your monthly amount.

Our foster homes care for our dogs free of charge for as long as they need until they are adopted. Donors make it possible for us to supply high quality food, busy toys, beds, medical, training & enrichment tools.

Every dog that comes into rescue gets a wellness vet visit and updated vaccines (we spent a LOT of time with our friends at Westside Animal Hospital) . The majority of dogs & cats surrendered to us are not spayed, neutered & have had little medical care. To do our part in decreasing the homeless pet population, we spay/neuter every dog prior to rehoming.

We often take on medical cases that require additional vet visits and specialist. Often, we accept expensive medical cases from our local shelter (we work with the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, SoCo Spay & Neuter and Longmont Humane Society, Ordway & Lamar Shelters) & we take on all of the vet bills. Dentals on most dogs are about $1300. Since we are an adult dog rescue, dentals are a typical cost for us. It is quite common for us to take on heart murmur dogs that we take to CVCA for cardiologist to do echocardiograms & prescribe meds (minimum bill is $600 here).

Once we have committed to take a dog in, we will care for all of its medical needs while in our care, and sometimes after adoption.
