SASHA

SASHA

Sasha would love to have her people swoon over her & let her sleep under the covers. She is between 12-14 years old, dog friendly, not cat tested, but just the sweet chill old gal. Sasha just had hernia repair plus a dental. She has elevated liver values that we are treating & testing to find out what she needs. She may be on liver support food & meds for life. She shows no behavioral signs of having any issues. She is happy & cuddly & 100% a velcro dog. As soon as we find out what her bloodwork shows in 2 weeks, hopefully she will be ready to find her Forever Lap.

DOBBY

DOBBY

Dobby is ready for a family of his own. Could that be you? Don't let Dobby's size and cuteness fool you. He is a high needs king and needs a family that is willing to put in the work to keep him happy and thriving. He has a very busy brain and is wicked smart. Let's talk about what Dobby needs in order to have a long and happy life with his forever family.

Dietary Needs: Dobby has really bad allergies, both food and environmental, so that means his diet needs to be strictly maintained. His diet consists of hydrolyzed protein wet and dry food with hydrolyzed protein treats.

Exercise Needs: He loves walks and runs! A five mile walk or run is a breeze for him. He typically doesn't pay any attention to any distractions on walks. Barking dogs? It's no big deal. Road noise? Whatever. He is really well behaved on his walks. He is also a ball hawk and will happily play fetch for an hour or more at a time. Tug of war? Count him in! I'm sure he would pick up agility training very fast (we will introduce him to our agility course soon).

Brain Games/Training: He solves puzzle feeders in no time. He picked up "Go find" at a record pace and loves it. He is honestly smart enough to work in search and rescue.

He knows "sit" "stay" "kennel" "go find" "go to bed" "with me" "come quick" (I'm sure there are more) and he figured out that we call Ahsoka & Kyber's kennel "their room" so we have to specify where we want Dobby to go. If he has a frozen lick mat, he knows he can pick it up and bend it against the floor to break off the treat to eat it faster. He is really freaking smart.

He prefers women but warms up to men with time. He would benefit from a family who has lots of visitors to their house so he can continue working on socializing in his safe space. He does not engage with people on walks at all, but when friends visit, he greets them. After a time or two, he considers them best friends. He has not met kids in his time with us due to his history of a child not being nice to him, but I'm sure he would be okay with kids over 10 that respect him.

He needs a fenced-in yard that he can search the perimeter of daily. He is not super vocal but will bark when new people (men) first enter the house, briefly in the backyard and at the doorbell. He does get vocal with a little howl when he's excited/playing.

He likes other dogs but would also be perfectly happy being your only baby. The more comfortable with a cat he is, the more he will annoy them or try to chase them. He has been working on some resource guarding issues of his preferred human and is making good progress, but this is an ongoing process that you need to commit to continue working on with him.

He needs blankets to burrow in and loves cuddling his favorite human. When his favorite person gets home, they must pet him before he will go out to use the bathroom. He is perfectly house trained. We are constantly learning about him and will continue sharing his needs as they evolve.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

We do community outreach to help owners with vet bills or training. We would much rather pets stay with the family they know & love, so if we can help owners with dentals or surgery, we do!

We paid $3000 for kidney stone surgery for Jaden to keep her Pittie. We also paid for him to be neutered because we do not want any more dogs being bred.

We covered a $1200 dental for Shadow, an ancient little Poodle, who’s elderly mom lives in assisted living & does not have any income.

Our most recent help went to Zoey who has an abscessed tooth. We paid for bloodwork, antibiotics & pain meds totaling $400. Unfortunetly, Zoey’s bloodwork shows that she is in kidney failure so we cannot do a dental to extract her tooth. We will continue to cover her medication for as long as she needs.
