Fosters Needed

We do not have a shelter to house dogs, so we rely on our foster homes to help. Fosters are the bridge between homelessness & a dog’s True Forever Home. Without a good network of fosters we would not be able to save dogs or cats. Fosters bring our dogs into their home & learn about them, teach them basic skills, expose them to the world & become very attached to helping us vet each adopter. Our fosters have no out of pocket expenses (ZERO expense to our foster families) and only need to provide a good loving home to a dog in need. We cannot do it without you!

If you are interested in becoming a foster, please fill out the application by clicking on the application button below. All fosters will be interviewed to verify we match the correct dog to the correct foster home. As required by our licensed organization, we conduct a physical home checks with all potential fosters.

Berger is asking you to please open your home & heart up to saving lives. Knowing that you were the bridge to a homeless pet’s Happily Ever After is a special feeling.

Frequently Ask Question

What if I fall in love with my foster dog and want to keep him?  If you are in love with your foster dog and want him or her to become a permanent part of your family, you can fill in an application. We always place our dogs in the best home.

How long will I have to foster?  Every case is different.  In some cases, ODaaT has found a forever home within a couple of weeks.  However, other dogs take a little bit longer to find just the right home.  On average a dog usually takes about 2-4 months to place into their permanent home.

What if I have to go out of town?  We consider our fosters as part of the ODaaT family.  Since family helps, ODaaT is no different.  We will work with you to make sure you can meet your out of town commitments.  We just ask that you give as much advance notice as possible.

What if it just is not working out? We want both our dogs and our foster family to be happy together.  We first suggest working with our behaviorist & seeing if together we can fix the issue. If it is not working out, we will find another foster to take the dog. This might not happen overnight, but we will work as fast as we can.

Do I buy the dog food? NO!  You buy nothing.  There are ZERO out of pocket expenses to our foster families.  This will include all food, vet bills, pet supplies, and a trainer to work with you on your schedule.

What if the dog needs training? We believe that +R Training is the only way to train. We have a few +R trainers in Colorado. We love JC at Get Your Sit Together & The folks at House of Dog. Our trainers who will work with you and your foster dog on your schedule at NO cost to you.

What if I don't have dog things in my house? We will provide everything our dogs need to make your home feel like a home to your foster dog.
